FriendZoned is a dynamic and inclusive organization that serves as a welcoming hub for all individuals, centering QTBIPOC and allies seeking to make genuine friendships, share experiences, and create a supportive community. Our mission is to provide a safe and empowering space where community members can connect, uplift each other, and celebrate the intersections of their identities.

Making new friends can be hard, but we believe in creating a diverse range of events that cater to various interests and comfort levels. We understand that not everyone enjoys the same kind of social environment, so we curate events that range from mixers to game nights, outdoor activities, workshops, and more. This ensures that you can choose the events that resonate with you and allow you to showcase your unique personality.

We are dedicated to creating an environment where people can authentically express themselves, forge meaningful friendships, and contribute to a vibrant and resilient community. By fostering connections and celebrating the unique experiences of QTBIPOC individuals, the organization aims to uplift spirits, provide a sense of belonging, and inspire positive change within the lives of its members.

FriendZoned was founded by Lex Gaines in 2023, after seeing a need for a platonic space for her community. “Post-covid, we were all still so isolated. I had countless conversations with people around me, and everyone seemed to have a desperate desire to make new friends and expand their community, but the task of reaching out, sparking up a conversation, or trading contact information proved to be intimidating without the proper setting. I love my community and we all deserve to have plentiful, diverse, and deep rooted friendships. I hope that FriendZoned can help to show my peers how important and fulfilling genuine friendship can be.”
